Today’s featured art is Flaming Dragonfly by evision Arts

Mary is a friend of mine as well as an exceptionally talented and gifted artist. Her Flaming Dragonfly covers the color harmony gamut of volcanic heat to tundra chill and the balance works really well doing it to make this painting sing.

This painting is restful yet vibrant and full of energy. That is an incredibly difficult challenge to do together in one painting but it has been accomplished expertly. All the colors separately and together are pleasing and help flow the eye through and around the painting.

I like the dark frame and mat chosen with a white separator mat highlighting and commanding attention directly into the painting.

I see an enormous amount of depth and dimension in this painting yet at first glance it appears to be one simple dragonfly that resonates musically. Looking more closely, there are three dragonflies, not just one.

This whimsical dragonfly would be perfect to decorate a young girls room or mine - it is lovely and makes me smile!

I like the pastels of the dragonfly and its surroundings.

The standard white mat in a black frame would not be my choice - it does help add depth but I would like to see it surrounded with a blue or a lavender mat in a white frame.

At Imagekind, you can choose the mat and frame combination that you like though so perhaps you would want to choose a green mat and a gold frame to highlight the greens.
