Dragonfly Haiku by Jean Roth
I feel very fortunate that I have seen lots of dragonflies in the yard at my new house … there have been several different colors … gold … blue … red …. green … which to me means that somewhere close is a thriving dragonfly population … maybe it is the nearby creek though I have not been over to it to see if it is alive with dragonflies too or not.
My friend Jean created this dragonfly design and it is gorgeous - I do not read Japanese though she does - I like how the letters look in relation to the dragonflies and grasses. The placement and color harmony feels tight yet relaxed - it gives me a reason to stop and examine each individual element while also appreciating the entire scene as a lovely picture.
