Today’s featured art is Spirit Dragon by Matt Isbell
Happy Halloween!
An unfriendly Spirit Dragon seemed quite appropriate for today’s art review.
The expression and matching pose is masterfully done - Matt Isbell has captured that snarly, out of sorts, I will bite your head off look perfectly!
The details in the scales are time consuming but I really appreciate seeing them … this drawing looks life-like and ready to actually do severe damage if not left alone.
This dragon painting would be a marvelous gift for a dragon lover or addition to a dragon collection.
Today’s featured art is Dragonfly Island by Melanie Plouffe
I’ve been watching dragonflies in my backyard for the last couple weeks …. last Saturday there were two quite large dragonflies doing acrobatics over my yard … one was blue and the other appeared so dark it might have been black - I just could not tell … but neither was tiny … both were good sized dragonflies.
Today, the two I noticed appeared to be hooked together while flying as if they were … mating … I do not know if that is actually what they were doing or not … but that is what it appeared to be as they flew past me.
When I found this lovely dragonfly Island painting, it seemed the perfect painting to illustrate a post about dragonflies. I love the bright colors and what a clever idea of making an island shape a dragonfly. And it makes me smile to have an island flying too
