A Working Vacation
When I left work this evening, my holiday vacation officially started from my day job. I have the next 11 days in a row off work for the cost of 4 vacation days - I go back to work on January 2nd of 2008. That was just too good to pass up so I have been looking forward to it for quite awhile. I’m not traveling to Iowa … originally, I had planned to do so to visit my son but that isn’t happening this Christmas … maybe next Christmas … I’m going to Iowa in the Spring instead … so I can look forward to seeing him and also driving on into Des Moines to see the lilacs at Ewing Park - they are gorgeous! And I haven’t seen them in many years! I plan to visit a family friend too that I haven’t seen in a very long time … I’ve never seen her grandson so that will be fun too!
Most people go on vacation to go places or to just hang out and rest and relax .. well … I am going to rest & relax, maybe I will even take Miss Sugar Plum down to the beach for the day to take pictures and paint but I also plan to clean my apt - get everything put away again. I also am working on getting all my Tribal Dragonflies with the various state names back up online. I’ve missed this Christmas shopping season .. but people who like dragonflies shop all year long and I will have them up for next year .. LOL .. and Valentine’s Day … as well as all the other holidays! My old computer dying put me at a real disadvantage for getting them back up for this Christmas Shopping Season … and with my commute schedule - I get very little done in the evenings on my personal stuff … come home, take care of Miss Sugar Plum and maybe keep up with email and play a video game if I am not too exhausted and by Friday nite, I am usually so tired I just collapse and get nothing done on Friday nites at all beyond caring for the dog.
I got a start on it tonite though in my excitement of being on vacation - I now have Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California and Colorado back up - t-shirts & sweatshirts, coasters, mouse pads and cutting boards - lots of pretty color choices - I cannot decide if the greens, yellows, pinks, blues or white are my favorite - the grays are fabulous too though! I especially like the Heather Gray!
