I found this lovely dragon in the gallery of Carmen Ditiu. I like the contrast of it’s top half facing one direction with the bottom half facing the opposite direction. The painting has great balance and though it is a rather subdued color palette, the color harmony is excellent and would be a great addition for any collector of Chinese / Oriental dragons. Very well done!

The surrounding art is very decorative and showcases the sharp dragon talons and the nature of dragons quite well. For me, the golds are a reminder of the greedy grasping nature of dragons on one hand while folk tales also tell us that Gold Dragons are immensely wise and friendly to people.

Last week was Chinese New Year. One of our Vice President’s gave us all a nickel to celebrate and one of my co-workers who is Vietnamese gave us in our department a lovely red envelope with a lottery ticket in it (that reminds me - I need to check the numbers for Sat!)
This golden snake dragon has a quite malevolent expression, not a Chinese dragon look at all but I like the surprise of it seeming more like a coiled python at one end while being completely dragon headed at the biting end than the flying dragon normally seen in dragon fantasy art.
I like the frame choice but I think I might have looked at a yellow or green mat to go with it - the brown emphasizes the browns in the painting and ties them together.
As always at Imagekind, when you buy fine art prints - you can buy what the artist has chosen or you can try various frame and mat combinations until you find what is perfect for your home or office.
